Steampunk Mariposa Necklaces – Flight of the Valkyries

This series of necklaces are wearable pieces of art.

I start with new, raw metal, as well as upcycled and vintage pieces. The new pieces are given a cold enamel.

I like this technique, because it allows the fine details of the metal work to show through.

All these pieces were created from a substantial, raw brass stampings. I then applied specialty paint in a couple of techniques, and sealed it with a resin coating. It is quite permanent.

The goddess stampings were created from vintage molds. An extremely rare, rose gold watch movement has rubies and functioning gears.

This one-of-a-kind piece is available in my Etsy shop.
